Cassandra (Cassy) Musick
A spark of love for dance was
ignited at age four when Cassandra studied Cha-cha, Waltz, and Jive at
her uncle's ballroom dance school, Ted Motyka Dance Studio. At age
seven she joined her sister at Studio One School of Performing Arts and
since then has studied Ballet (Cecchetti
Syllabus), Jazz, Hip Hop, Lyrical, and Modern.
While at Lincoln Middle School, Cassy took part in
the dance and choral program progressing to a starring role as
Mrs. Potts in the
school's performance of Beauty and the Beast. Joining the St.
James-Assiniboia Divisional Junior Concert Choir as an Alto led
to a love of working out harmonies and the opportunity to sing
with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra. She also
traveled to Toronto and Banff where she performed in MusicFest Canada.
Cassy studied Ballet (RAD and ABT Syllabus) and Modern
dance at Westwood Collegiate in the Dance Major program, and was
awarded the Jill Minot dance scholarship at graduation for her
outstanding performance in the four-year program. Cassy also took part
in Westwood Collegiate's Musical Theatre program where she was cast in
the chorus and dance ensemble for Les Miserables, Phantom of
the Opera, and Aida, and starred as Pilar in Legally Blonde.
During her time at Westwood, the program received the Rainbow
Stage award four years
running for each show's excellent performance and technical/production
work.
Cassy attended the Triple Threat Dance Convention,
Manitoba Provincial Dance Festival, and the Canadian National Dance
Championships with Studio One receiving accolades and awards in all categories.
Cassy is a graduate of Red River College's
Creative Communications program and works in marketing,
communications, and graphic design.
Cassy is excited to join the Studio One staff to share
her passion for dance and her“give it your all” attitude with her
students.
